Visa Update: Dubai is recognized as one of the developed nations globally. A significant number of individuals from India aspire to visit this city. However, the complex visa application process previously posed challenges for many. Recently, the Dubai government has implemented modifications to the visa procedures, making it notably easier for Indians to travel to Dubai.
A significant alteration has been introduced regarding the Visa on Arrival policy for Indian nationals. As of Thursday, February 13, Indian citizens possessing standard passports along with a valid visa, residence permit, or green card from six newly designated countries will qualify for Visa on Arrival in the UAE. This information has been reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Aims to enhance tourism
The initiative, announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), aims to enhance tourism, attract skilled professionals and entrepreneurs, and solidify the UAE’s status as a global hub. Additionally, this move is intended to further bolster the tourism sector within the UAE.
According to the updated Visa on Arrival policy, Indian citizens who hold green cards or residence permits from the following six countries are now eligible for this visa:
1. Singapore
2. Japan
3. South Korea
4. Australia
5. New Zealand
6. Canada
Important to note
It is important to note that previously, only Indian citizens with visas from the United States, European Union, or the United Kingdom were eligible for the UAE’s Visa on Arrival. The recent changes by the UAE government have expanded this eligibility to include six additional countries, facilitating easier access for Indian travelers.
There are some conditions
There are specific conditions that must be met to obtain the UAE Visa on Arrival. For instance, the Indian passport, visa, or residence permit must have a minimum validity of six months. Furthermore, the ICP has established varying fees based on the duration of the visa. For example, a 14-day entry visa incurs a charge of 100 dirhams.
