Salaried employees often have many questions about their PF account. They may wonder whether their company is depositing money into their PF, how much interest they are earning, what their current PF balance is, or what happened to their old PF account. Many such questions come to mind.
If you check your PF balance regularly, you can find answers to most of these questions. Checking your PF balance is very easy. You can even check it with just a missed call. Let’s look at some simple ways to check your PF balance.
Just One Missed Call
If your mobile number is registered with your UAN, you can check your PF balance by giving a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number. After the missed call, you will receive messages from EPFO, which will show the balance of your PF accounts.
Information via SMS
You can also know your EPF balance and the latest contributions by sending an SMS to 7738299899. To do this, type EPFOHO ENG from your registered number and send the message. “ENG” stands for English. If you want the information in another language, type the first three letters of the language instead of “ENG.”
EPFO Portal
Visit the EPFO website, click on the “Employees” section, and then select “Member Passbook.” You can access your PF passbook by entering your UAN and password. This will show the opening and closing balances, as well as the contributions from both you and your employer. Any PF transfers and accumulated PF interest will also be visible.
Umang App
You can also check your PF balance using the Umang app. This government app provides access to various government services in one place. With the Umang app, you can submit claims, view your EPF passbook, and track your claims. To use it, simply register with your phone number and complete a one-time registration.
