If you are a PF account holder then this article is for you. Salaried individuals frequently have numerous inquiries regarding their Provident Fund (PF) accounts. Questions such as whether their employer is contributing to the PF, the interest being earned, the current balance, and the status of previous PF accounts often arise. Regularly checking your PF account balance can help clarify many of these concerns.

Monitoring your PF account balance is quite simple. You can even do it with just a missed call. Here are some straightforward methods to check your PF balance.

Just one missed call

If your mobile number is linked to your Universal Account Number (UAN), you can obtain your PF balance by making a missed call from your registered mobile to 9966044425. After the missed call, you will receive messages from the EPFO that will display your PF account balance.

Additionally, you can check your EPF account balance and the most recent contributions by sending an SMS to 7738299899. To do this, type “AN EPFOHO ENG” from your registered number and send it. Here, “ENG” stands for English. If you prefer information in another language, simply use the first three letters of that language.

EPFO Portal

You can also visit the EPFO website, navigate to the Employees section, and click on Member Passbook. By entering your UAN and password, you can access your PF passbook, which will show both the opening and closing balances, along with contributions from both the employee and employer. You will also see the total amount transferred and the interest accrued on your PF. The EPF balance is available for viewing in the passbook as well.

Umang App

You can easily check your PF balance using the Umang app. This app was launched by the government to give citizens convenient access to a range of government services all in one location. With the Umang app, you can submit claims, view your EPF passbook, and monitor your claims. To get started, simply enter your phone number in the app and complete a one-time registration.
