According to Bleeping Computer reports, cyber scammers are nowadays sharing fake job listings on the online platform LinkedIn and other job platforms. Then the users applying on these platforms are being asked to download an app and the name of this app is Massive Video Call App GrassCall which they are being asked to download. Sensitive data of users can be stolen through this app, and this app may even contain bank details and passwords of users.
Hundreds of people got duped by malware app
According to the report, scammers have cheated hundreds of people using this new method so far. All the users who have been scammed have suffered a huge setback. An important information has been received that a cybercriminal is behind this scam and this is the Russian cybercrime group ‘Crazy Evil’. The work of this group has been continuous social engineering attacks. It is being reported that this group has listed fake jobs on platforms like CryptoJobsList, WellFound and LinkedIn. Scammers have a fake company named ChainSeeker.io on which they are working with identity and they are looting people. The scammers have also set up a professional website and social media profiles of this company.
