DA Hike: The Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh, has presented a significant New Year present to the employees of the state government. In fact, the Dearness Allowance (DA) for government workers has been raised by 7 percent. With this rise, DA will reach 39 percent.
Over one lakh government workers will gain
At present, these workers are receiving a dearness allowance of 32 percent. Over one lakh government workers will gain from the government’s recent decision. Currently, central government workers receive a dearness allowance of 53 percent. In this situation, employees of the Manipur government are receiving an allowance that is 14 percent lower than that of the Centre.
7th pay commission suggestion
We would like to inform you that the 53 percent allowance for central government employees is applicable until December. It will rise once more in the upcoming year. In fact, as per the suggestions of the Seventh Pay Commission, the dearness allowance for central government employees is raised two times a year. This rise occurs every six months.
Assistance for entrepreneurs and startups
In addition to the dearness allowance, Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh discussed various current government initiatives, including assistance for entrepreneurs and startup projects. He mentioned that the state government has provided loans without collateral to 426 internally displaced individuals through the Chief Minister Entrepreneurship Assistance Scheme. Through this program, the government is providing loans of Rs 50,000 without requiring any collateral to individuals displaced by ethnic violence.
He mentioned that until now, roughly seven startups have been pinpointed and they are prepared to hire 432 displaced individuals. In addition to this, the Chief Minister mentioned that approximately 500 young individuals will receive residential skill training in Delhi to work as flight crew members for Air India and Indigo.
