DA Hike: The central government may soon bring good news for government employees. If sources are to be believed, preparations are underway to increase dearness allowance (DA) once again.
If this happens, then a lot of money will come into the pockets of the employees. Let us know what is DA, how it increases, and how much increase can be made this time.
What is DA and how does it increase
DA i.e. dearness allowance, is given to protect government employees from the increasing effects of inflation. It is revised once every six months.
The government increases DA given the inflation rate. DA is calculated subjected on the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI).
How much can DA increase this time
Just recently there has been a 50% increase in DA, which has increased the salary of the employees significantly.
But the inflation rate is still increasing, so it is expected that DA will increase this time too. However, there hasn’t been official confirmation given yet.
How much will be the benefit of increasing DA
The increase in DA has a direct impact on the salary of the employees. If there is a 3% increase in DA, then the salary of the employees whose basic salary is Rs 18,000 will increase by about Rs 540 per month.
At the same time, those whose basic salary is Rs 56,900, their salary can increase by about Rs 1707 per month.
What does DA and DR crossing 50% mean
An important thing is that both DA and DR have crossed 50%. Now the question is whether the government will merge them with the basic salary.
If this happens, then the salaries of employees and pensioners will increase even more. But at present there has been no official announcement in this regard.
What else will increase apart from DA
The increase in DA not only affects your salary but also increases many other allowances related to it, such as HRA (House Rent Allowance), CCA (City Compensation Allowance), etc.
When will the good news come
Usually, the government announces the increase in DA and DR in March and September. But this time there may be a slight delay.
Hopefully, some good news will come soon. For now, all we can say is that hopefully, the government will give some good news soon. We will stay in touch with you and keep giving you updates.
