Good news for crores of government employees. And this good news is regarding DA Hike. Everybody knows that in Diwali, the central government increased the DA for its employees, after which many state governments also increased the DA for the employees. However, in the meantime, there have been many problems regarding the increase in salaries and allowances of the state government employees.

As we know, in this festive season, the Central Government announced an increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA), giving a special gift of Diwali to its employees. The biggest thing is that the government increased the DA by 3% simultaneously. After this, government employees will get DA at the rate of 53 percent. Let’s find out about it.

DA Hike update

A few days ago, the Modi government announced a 4% increase in DA even before the Lok Sabha elections. After this, 50% DA was given to the employees, which was earlier given at the rate of 46%. Now, in a very short time, the government decided to hike DA again. Continuing this sequence, the state governments are also increasing the DA of their employees, like the Center. It has been learned that from November 1, the Center as well as the State Government have decided to increase the DA of all government employees by 5 percent. This will make the total DA of the state government 30% at one go.

What is the DA of state government employees?

Let us tell you that after this increase, the state government employees will get DA at the rate of 30%. However, till now the state government employees have been getting DA at the rate of 25%. With this, the difference in dearness allowance between central and state government employees is currently 28%, but with the new change, this difference will be reduced to 23%. The government said that despite facing financial challenges, it has been decided to increase the allowances of the state government employees.

Additional expenditure of Rs 500 crore

It has been learned that due to the DA hike, there will be an additional cost of Rs 500 crore on the state government, although this move will benefit more than 1.6 lakh government employees and 82,000 pensioners.

The 7th Pay Commission was implemented in Tripura from October 1, 2018. Since then, the DA has been increased several times. Earlier in March 2024, the dearness allowance of Tripura government employees was increased by 5% to 25%.
