The wait is over. Finally govt hikes DA of some employees. 2024 is about to end soon. Meanwhile some workers gets big surprise from the govt. The dearness allowance of coal workers has been increased by 2.20 percent as compared to the previous quarter. From December 2024 to February 2025, dearness allowance will be paid to coal workers at the rate of 20.1 percent.
DA increased
The notification was issued by Coal India General Manager (Manpower and Industrial Relations) Gautam Banerjee on Friday. AITUC’s Lakhan Lal Mahato said that there has been an increase of 2.20 percent. The minimum of Rs 255 and the maximum of Rs 3,000 will increase from the previous quarter.
However, Lakhan Lal Mahato said that the dearness allowance should be increased more than this. Questioning the formula for calculating the inflation rate, he demanded amendments.
DA hikes of govt employees
Earlier this year, the Hemant Soren-led government had increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of government employees working in the state. The Hemant Soren government has approved a proposal to increase the dearness allowance for government employees in Jharkhand and the unreserved pay scale for pensioners and family pensioners. Pensioners and family pensioners will benefit from this starting January 1, 2024.
The dearness relief for pensioners has increased from 230% to 239%
Jharkhand’s Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel informed about the decisions made in the cabinet, stating that the state government has increased the rates of dearness relief in the unreserved pay scale for pensioners and family pensioners. Previously, a dearness relief of 230 percent was provided, which has now been increased to 239 percent.
