On the occasion of Diwali, Muhurat trading on the country’s major stock markets NSE, BSE and Commodity Exchange MCX will be held on November 1, 2024. Muhurat trading is a special live trading session held on the day of Diwali in the Indian stock markets, which lasts for about an hour. Investors and traders trade in this special session held at an auspicious time. During this time, they buy stocks and commodities as the beginning of the new financial year.

Diwali Muhurat trading date

This year’s special session of Muhurat Trading will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024. According to the NSE notification, “Muhurat trading will be held on the occasion of Diwali on Friday, 1 November 2024. MCX will also conduct Muhurat trading on this day for all its commodity and index contracts.”

 Muhurat Trading Timing

As per National Stock Exchange, this year Muhurat trading will start from 6 pm to 7 pm on Friday, 1 November 2024. The cut-off time for position limit/collateral value and trade modification is 7:10 pm. No new positions can be created after this time nor can any changes, cancellations or adjustments be made to open trades. Also, due to Muhurat trading on 1st November 2024, pay-in/pay-out transactions for the trade date of 31st October 2024 and 1st November 2024 will be settled at 8:30 AM on 4th November 2024.

Special trading session will also be held on MCX

MCX will also hold its special trading session from 6 pm to 7 pm on Friday. Along with this, a pre-session (special session) will also be held from 5:45 pm to 5:59 pm. According to the information, there will also be a client code modification session from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm. Client code modification for trading people means making changes to trading algorithms, scripts or platforms to better meet a client’s needs.
