The government hopes that increasing the DA at that time will yield benefits. Haryana will hold the assembly elections on October 5.
Simultaneously, another report asserts that the announcement is scheduled for the end of September.The AICPI index data from January to June 2024 clearly indicates the significant increase in dearness allowance.
Central employees and pensioners who receive their salary under the 7th Pay Commission will receive direct benefits. From January 2024, the government will provide a 50% dearness allowance. In June, there was a big jump of 1.5 points in the AICPI index. As a result, the score of dearness allowance has also increased.
Historically, the announcement of the DA hike occurs a week or 15 days before Diwali each year. This time, however, it may happen a little early due to the elections. The central government can announce a DA hike for employees and pensioners in the last week of September.
This time, retired employees and pensioners can expect a 4% increase in DA and DR. Should the assembly elections not take place in early October, the government may announce the DA hike in October. The government announces the DA hike twice a year.
When will the central employees get the money?
