Big news for driving licence holders. Right now like Aadhaar, Ration, PAN Driving Licence also important document to have. The Indian government has introduced stricter regulations due to the rising number of minors driving vehicles. Any minor caught behind the wheel will face a significant fine of Rs 25,000. Additionally, their parents will also incur a fine, and there is a possibility of the vehicle’s registration certificate being revoked.

 

Changes in the Driving License Process

 

The procedure for obtaining a driving license has been updated. Candidates are no longer required to visit the RTO for their tests; they can now take the test at approved private driving schools. If they pass, they can apply for their license directly.

 

The application process for a driving license has been streamlined further. There are fewer document requirements, making it quicker and more convenient, especially for those seeking a two-wheeler or four-wheeler license.

New Fees

The fee structure for driving licenses has been revised as well. This includes fees for Learner’s Licenses, International Licenses, and Permanent Licenses, all designed to enhance convenience for applicants. New guidelines have been established for private driving schools, covering aspects such as location, training duration, and instructor qualifications, ensuring that training meets high standards.
