e-Shram Card: The central government introduced the e-Shram portal in August 2021, targeting individuals employed in the unorganized sector. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, aims to enhance the implementation of various social security schemes. It is specifically designed for the benefit of workers who are not affiliated with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) or the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Upon obtaining an e-Shram card, workers can access numerous advantages provided under this scheme.

The e-Shram portal serves as a dedicated platform established by the Ministry of Labor to support individuals in the unorganized sector. To register on this portal, applicants must provide their Aadhaar number, a mobile number linked to their Aadhaar, and bank account information. Workers aged between 18 and 59 years who are part of the unorganized sector are eligible to register for the scheme. Following registration, participants will receive an accidental insurance coverage of ₹2 lakh under the PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.

Additionally, workers have the ability to update their personal information, such as mobile number, address, occupation, and educational qualifications, on the e-Shram portal. The registration process can be completed by visiting register.eshram.gov.in. It is important to note that individuals registered on the e-Shram portal do not need to submit separate applications for other schemes.
