Finally the date is here. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to unveil the Union Budget 2025 this Saturday, marking her eighth consecutive presentation. There’s a buzz that the middle class might see some relief in this budget, with potential changes to income tax slabs on the horizon. The focus is likely to be on boosting India’s manufacturing sector as part of the ‘Developed India’ initiative.

Additionally, the budget aims to ease the tax load on the middle class, encourage spending, and keep fiscal discipline in check. Just a heads up, the Union Budget for the financial year 2025-26 is expected to be presented on February 1, 2025, around 11 am.

The Economic Survey was shared on Friday, highlighting that India’s GDP growth rate for FY26 is projected to be between 6.3% and 6.8%. The focus is more on boosting domestic growth rather than relying heavily on exports. To reach the goal of a developed India by 2047, the survey suggests aiming for an annual growth rate of 8%, a 35% investment rate, and growth in sectors like manufacturing, AI, robotics, and biotechnology.
