Especially root pests called black larvae can drop radish production. In the initial stage, these larvae eat the leaves and make holes in them, which can reduce the quality and production of the crop to a great extent. To prevent this, dissolve 20 liters of endosulfan in 10 liters of water and sprinkle it on the crop per hectare. The use of neem-cow urine based pesticide for biological prevention of pests and diseases in radish crop can also prove to be beneficial.

Radish is considered beneficial for health. Its intake keeps the digestive power healthy. It also helps in controlling blood sugar levels. Cough and cold can be avoided by eating radish daily in cold weather. Consumption of radish also helps in reducing the risk of heart-related diseases. Radish contains nutrients like vitamin C, fiber, folate, potassium, magnesium and calcium. All these are considered very beneficial for health.

Radish can be grown in the cultivation type of soil. But sandy loam soil is considered better for getting good yield from its cultivation. Shekhar Yadav, a farmer from Sahelian village in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, is earning big money from the cultivation of radish. Shekhar cultivates radish every year. This earns them Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000 in a crop.
