The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the deadline for linking the Universal Account Number (UAN) and bank account with Aadhaar. Employees and companies can now complete this process by February 15. If they fail to do so on time, employees will not be able to avail the benefits of EPFO’s Employee Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme.
Complete the Process by February 15
EPFO has extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar and bank accounts to February 15. EPFO has urged all members to complete this process as soon as possible to avoid inconvenience and ensure they receive the benefits of EPFO schemes. Both employees and companies benefit from EPFO’s ELI scheme, especially companies that hire new employees.
What is the ELI Scheme?
The Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme of EPFO aims to increase job opportunities and encourage companies to hire new employees. It includes three different schemes:
Scheme A: Companies will receive a subsidy of Rs 15,000 for hiring a new graduate, paid in three instalments.
Scheme B: A special scheme for the manufacturing sector, where companies get Rs 3,000 per month per employee for two years on new recruitments.
Scheme C: Incentives will be provided to increase the workforce in industries, though details are yet to be disclosed.
EPFO allows its members to make key changes to their personal details without the Employer’s approval.
