Big news has come for millions of pensioners in the country. According to the notification issued by the department, government employees can now submit their pension applications online. The change is aimed at simplifying the process by allowing retirees to use the e-HRMS portal to submit Form 6A. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) launched this new system on 6 November 2024. Now, they can apply online, which will eliminate the need to submit physical documents. The change is designed to speed up the pension process and improve convenience for retirees.

Submit Form 6A

Retired individuals will now have to use a single pension application form, Form 6-A, which collects personal details, Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) account information, and bank account details in one place. In a notification issued on November 11, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare said that government employees will have to submit their Form 6-A Bhavishya or through the e-HRMS portal. This shift to an online system is a significant step towards modernizing the pension application process.
