Another big news is waiting for lakhs of government employees. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is going to allow its members to withdraw provident fund (PF) money through ATMs. For this, a dedicated or special card will be given to the beneficiaries by the EPFO. Sumita Dawra, Secretary, Ministry of Labour, said that only after the settlement of PF claims, beneficiaries will be able to withdraw money directly from ATMs.
Waiting 7-10 days for online claim settlement
As per the existing system, EPFO members are required to wait for 7-10 days to settle their claims online. The money is then sent directly to the beneficiary’s bank account. Sumita Dawra said that EPFO is considering providing PF services to its more than seven crore members like banks.
Continuous improvement in IT infrastructure for a few months: Minister
She said that our focus at the moment is on improving information technology (IT) infrastructure. We have been steadily improving for the last few months. After the hardware update, more improvements will be seen in January 2025.

Sumita Dawra said efforts are being made to bring in systemic reforms to make processes easier and efficient. Apart from PF, EPFO also provides financial assistance to its members in case of medical health coverage, pension and disability.
