Good news for EPFO members. As per report, EPFO has added 1.34 million new members in the month of October. This figure indicates the increasing potential for employment. The government announced in a statement on Wednesday that 750,000 new members enrolled in the EPFO in October. The rise can be attributed to growing job opportunities, heightened awareness of EPFO benefits, and initiatives aimed at expanding the organization’s outreach.
What do the numbers indicate?
Remarkably, an increased number of young employees have participated. Among individuals aged 18 to 25, 58.49% were newly registered members. Out of these, 5.43 lakh individuals participated in October. This marks the first occasion where the number of young individuals employed has risen. In October, 1.29 million individuals returned to the EPFO.
Increase in numbers
This is 16.23% greater than the previous year. There has also been a rise in the number of women members. In October, 209,000 women joined EPFO. This is 2.12% higher than last year. In total, the number of women members has risen by 2.79 lakh. This indicates the rise in the number of employed women. Maharashtra has recorded the largest rise in membership at 22.18%.
