If you are a job holder and fall under EPFO, this news is for you. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has issued a warning for all its members across the country. In light of the increasing cases of cyber fraud nationwide, EPFO has urged the crores of employees working in the organized sector to remain cautious.

EPFO has advised employees not to share confidential information related to their EPFO accounts with anyone. This includes details such as the UAN number, password, PAN number, Aadhaar number, bank account details, OTPs, and more.

EPFO Alerts Employees Through Its Official X Account

EPFO has shared crucial information on its official social media platform, X. The Employees Provident Fund Organization emphasized that it never asks employees for any account-related details. If anyone claiming to be an EPFO employee asks for confidential information like your UAN number, password, PAN, Aadhaar, bank account details, or OTP via phone call, message, WhatsApp, or email, you should not provide any details.

File a Complaint Without Delay

Such requests are tricks by cybercriminals intending to steal the hard-earned money in your EPF account. If someone contacts you pretending to be an EPFO employee and demands sensitive information, register a complaint immediately. Moreover, avoid using cyber cafes or public devices to access your EPF account online to ensure your safety.

Always Use a Personal Device

For EPFO-related tasks, always use your personal laptop, computer, tablet, or mobile phone. This minimizes the chances of fraud and keeps your account secure. EPFO is continuously raising awareness through its website, guiding employees on how to protect themselves from cyber fraud.
