You work for a large private company and receive a salary, you definitely need a PF account. As a PF account holder, you’ll have a UAN number, which is super important. Every member of the EPFO has a Universal Account Number (UAN). If you don’t know your UAN, you won’t be able to access your PF account, and that could put a halt to some important tasks.
Getting stuck with important tasks is no fun
Your UAN is a 12-digit number that every EPFO member needs. If you suddenly find yourself needing to handle something related to your PF account but can’t recall your UAN, you’ll be out of luck. However, there’s a way to retrieve your UAN number. Here’s how you can do it:
To recover your UAN number, start by visiting the UAN website at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/. Next, look for the Important Links section on the right side and click on “Know your UAN.”
You’ll need to enter your registered mobile number and the captcha code, then hit “Request OTP.” An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. After you receive it, enter the OTP along with the captcha code and click “Validate OTP.”
Now, fill in your full name, date of birth, Aadhar number or PAN number, and the captcha code, then click on “Show My UAN.” Once you do that, your UAN number will pop up on your screen. Make sure to copy it down and save it somewhere safe, so you won’t run into any issues later on.
