The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a press note and shared important information related to fastag. According to the RBI, there is no limit on payments under Fastag and NCMC. Simultaneously, the customer will no longer require a pre-debit notification for this purpose. All the other rules and guidelines of the e-mandate framework will remain the same; previously, customers had to send a notification of pre-debit at least 24 hours in advance to debit from their account. RBI also included recurring payments for Fastag and NCMC under the e-mandate framework in the monetary policy meeting on 7 June 2024. Along with this, RBI said that the prevalence of Fastag is increasing continuously in the country.
