Government Scheme: In Jharkhand, 20 lakh women will receive Rs 7,500 for the months of January, February, and March as part of the Maiyaan Samman Yojana. This assistance is designated for women whose bank accounts are either not linked to Aadhaar or who possess multiple bank accounts. It is important to note that if these women do not link their bank accounts to Aadhaar and do not consolidate to a single account, they will be ineligible for benefits from this scheme starting April 2025.
This decision was made during a cabinet meeting of the state government, which approved 18 proposals under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Following the meeting, Principal Secretary of the Cabinet, Vandana Dadel, announced a partial amendment to the Chief Minister Mainiya Samman Yojana. Initially, the scheme provided financial assistance to women with unlinked or multiple bank accounts until December 2024; however, this period has now been extended to March 2025.
Consequently, those eligible will receive the financial support from January to March. It is mandatory for these beneficiaries to link their Aadhaar to their bank accounts and maintain a single account to continue receiving assistance from April 2025. Failure to comply will result in the loss of benefits. To date, 38 lakh women in the state have received a total of Rs 7,500 for the months of January, February, and March under the Maiyaan Samman Yojana, with payments made prior to Holi.
Rs 7,500 will have their payments processed before March 31
The 20 lakh women set to receive Rs 7,500 will have their payments processed before March 31. During last year’s assembly elections, Hemant Soren’s party pledged to provide women with Rs 2,500 each month upon assuming power, and since the government was formed, this amount has been consistently disbursed.
