Farmer ID: A new identification system tailored for farmers is set to be introduced, modeled after the Aadhaar framework. This “Farmer ID” will eliminate the need for farmers to repeatedly undergo the KYC process, allowing them to access government schemes and benefits seamlessly.
The system will facilitate secure and straightforward management of farmers’ identities and their associated data. Similar to the Aadhaar card, the Farmer ID will serve as a digital identification tool for farmers, enabling them to benefit from programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Crop Insurance Scheme, and other agricultural initiatives. The identity card will encompass details about the farmers’ land, livestock, crop information, and more.
No need for repeated KYC processes
This government initiative aims to provide uninterrupted support to farmers. Once the Farmer ID is issued, there will be no need for repeated KYC processes, simplifying access to various benefits.
