The Rajasthan government has launched the Mini Sprinkler Plant Scheme to boost farmers’ income and promote water conservation. Under this scheme, farmers are eligible for a subsidy of 70% to 75% to install sprinkler plants. This subsidy will be directly transferred to the farmers’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). With the help of this scheme, farmers can irrigate more land using less water, increasing crop production and improving their income.

Key Points of the Scheme

  • Water Conservation: The sprinkler system will allow the irrigation of more land with less water.
  • Increase in Crop Production: Modern irrigation methods will improve crop quality and yield.

Why is This Scheme Important for Farmers?

Due to water shortages and irregular rainfall in Rajasthan, farmers face challenges in irrigation. Traditional irrigation methods consume excessive water, increasing costs and reducing crop production.

This scheme offers multiple benefits:

  1. Water Saving: Saves up to 50% water.
  2. Reduced Costs: This lowers electricity and diesel expenses.
  3. Increased Yield: Ensures better crop production through improved irrigation.
  4. Support for Small Farmers: Makes expensive irrigation equipment affordable through subsidies
