FASTag Update: In today’s time, everyone has their own car. There is a continuous increase in sales for car companies. Additionally, the number of vehicles on the road is increasing day by day.

The collection of tolls is also on the rise. Nowadays the sales of the auto world are also seen increasing very fast, most people are preferring to buy vehicles.

The growing number of vehicles in India is leading to an annual increase in toll collection, which is positively impacting the government’s reserves. On the other hand, due to the increasing vehicle traffic on the highways, there may be some more big changes in the way of collecting toll at the toll plaza.

Currently, the government is preparing for the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology, replacing the traditional toll collection method. Earlier, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the Global Navigation Satellite System.

Reports indicate that the testing phase of this system is currently underway. India will permanently abolish the old toll technology upon its arrival.

What is Global Navigation Satellite System?

GNSS will be based on navigation satellite system. It will have a satellite based unit, which will be installed in vehicles. With the help of the system, officials will be able to easily track when and at what time your car started using the toll highway.

As soon as the vehicle leaves the toll road, the system will calculate the toll road’s usage and deduct the amount. This means that vehicles will not stop at the toll plaza.

Big benefits of GNSS

The central government’s next toll plaza system will prove to be very good. GNSS will benefit the consumer by saving a beneficial amount of money on travel, which will not cause any kind of trouble. It will also work to eliminate toll booths. This will also relieve the drivers from long lines at the toll plaza. Drivers will be able to benefit from a more convenient travel experience.
