Deepam 2.0: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today launched the Deepam 2.0 scheme at Edupuram in Ichapuram mandal of Srikakulam district, as part of the “Super Six Promise” initiative. The program provides free gas cylinders to eligible families, aiming to improve their quality of life. The CM handed over free gas cylinders to women beneficiaries under this scheme. During this time, he himself lit the gas stove (LPG Gas Stove) and made tea. After that, CM Naidu sipped tea with the ministers present.
One free cylinder every four months
Under the Deepam 2.0 scheme, Rs 2 thousand 684 crore will be spent annually. CM Chandrababu Naidu handed over Rs 894 crore to petroleum companies as the first installment. Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will be given three cylinders per year at the rate of one free cylinder every four months. CM Chandrababu said that, all those who have white ration cards will be eligible for the Deepam 2 scheme. The first cylinder has been allowed to be taken anytime till March 31, for which booking has started from October 29.
So far 5 lakh bookings have been done. Cash will be credited to the beneficiary’s account within 48 hours of the gas cylinder being given. The CM said that if anyone does not get the benefit of the scheme, then they can register a complaint by calling 1967 toll free number.

Gas cylinders within 24 hours
Arrangements have been made to provide gas cylinders within 24 hours in cities and 48 hours in rural areas. According to information received from the government, there are 1 crore 40 lakh beneficiaries of the free gas scheme. He said that the first cylinder can be taken before March 31, the second before July 31 and the third before November 30.
