What is the Sugarcane Mechanization Scheme?
The Sugarcane Mechanization Scheme (Ganna Yantrikaran Yojana), run by the Government of Bihar, aims to promote the use of modern agricultural machinery in sugarcane cultivation. The scheme includes agricultural equipment that helps with activities such as sugarcane sowing, weed control, pest management, harvesting, and seed treatment.

Which Agricultural Equipment Is Covered by the Subsidy?
Under the scheme, sugarcane farmers can receive subsidies for the following modern agricultural equipment:
- Sugarcane Cutter Planter
- Land Leveler Machine
- Cultivator
- Ratoon Management Device
- Seed Treatment Device
- Engine-Operated Power Sprayer
- Tractor-Operated Power Sprayer
- Diesel Engine/Electric Motor-Driven Juicer Machine with Handcart
- Single Bud Cutter (Manual & Power Operated)
- Power Weeder
- MB Plow, etc.
How Much Subsidy Will Be Available?
The subsidy under this scheme varies depending on the category of the applicant:
- General Category Farmers: Up to 50% subsidy
- SC/ST and Backward Class Farmers: Up to 60% subsidy
- Sugar Mills, FPOs, Jeevikas, and Farmer Groups: Up to 70% subsidy for setting up sugarcane machinery banks in sugar mill areas.
