Big news for LPG gas holder’s. The three leading gas companies in the country—Hindustan Gas, Bharat Gas, and Indane Gas—are currently conducting free safety inspections and awareness initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety of LPG users. This campaign’s goal is to avert potentially deadly accidents related to gas cylinders by inspecting domestic gas cylinders, stoves, regulators, and safety pipes at the consumer level.

According to the guidelines established by the gas companies, it is the duty of each dealer and delivery personnel from gas agencies to carefully examine the gas stove, cylinder, and safety pipes in the kitchens of their customers. If they find any damaged or deteriorating gas pipes, they are required to encourage consumers to promptly replace these safety pipes. Taking these small preventive measures can help avoid future incidents.

It’s important to highlight that when a consumer obtains a connection from a gas agency, the gas company automatically provides insurance coverage. In the event of any financial loss or fatality resulting from an accident involving a domestic gas cylinder, the gas company will compensate the consumer. In cases of death, the family of the consumer receives a substantial insurance payout, but this is contingent upon adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by the gas companies.

Gas companies are currently offering free safety checks to ensure consumer safety. At the same time, they’re connecting consumers to useful programs like the eKYC scheme using biometric systems, so everyone can access the services provided by these companies. If consumers don’t comply with the company’s rules, they might lose their subsidy. That’s why it’s crucial for them to visit their agency dealer and complete the KYC process through the biometric system.

What are the dealers saying?

Jagroop Singh, a representative from the local HP Gas Agency, mentioned that he has set up three special teams to help domestic gas consumers benefit from the free safety checks. These teams are going door-to-door to inspect gas cylinders, stove regulators, and safety pipes at no cost. He encouraged consumers to take advantage of this free initiative from the gas company.

He also shared that at his agency’s office, consumers can enroll in the KYC scheme using the free biometric system. The goal is to ensure that the company has up-to-date information on every consumer associated with them.
