Good news for everyone. If you’ve been feeling the pinch from rising gas cylinder prices, then now it’s time for relaxation. In the 2025 Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a price cut for LPG gas cylinders. This time, the relief is specifically for commercial gas cylinders, but there’s hope that domestic gas prices might drop in the near future too.
So, how much cheaper are the gas cylinders now?
The government has slashed the price of commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 7. This move is set to ease the burden on hotels, restaurants, catering services, and small businesses. However, there hasn’t been a significant change in the prices of gas cylinders overall.
What are the new gas prices in your city now?
Following the 2025 Budget, the prices of commercial LPG in various cities across Madhya Pradesh are as follows:
Bhopal – Rs.1802.50
Chhatarpur – Rs 1842
Chhindwara – Rs.1849
Gwalior – Rs 2027
Hoshangabad – Rs.1840
Indore – Rs.1904.50
Jabalpur – Rs 2015
Khandwa – Rs. 1935.50
Mandsaur – Rs.1996.50
The price of this cylinder has been reduced by Rs 7 and after this, the price of a commercial gas cylinder in the capital Delhi has come down from Rs 1804 to Rs 1797 from the day of the budget. While in Kolkata its price (Kolkata LPG Cylinder Price) has come down from Rs 1911 to Rs 1907. In Mumbai, it will now be available for Rs 1749.50 instead of Rs 1756 and in Chennai this price has come down from Rs 1966 to Rs 1959.50.
Who stands to gain the most?
This price reduction will primarily benefit those operating hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and food stalls. Additionally, the cost of cylinders will see a slight decrease for weddings, parties, and large events. For businesses involved in large-scale food preparation, this could be a significant advantage from Budget 2025.
Why haven’t domestic gas cylinders become cheaper?
If you’re curious about why domestic gas cylinder prices haven’t dropped, there are two key reasons. First, the government provides subsidies to domestic consumers, which helps keep prices stable. Second, fluctuations in international crude oil prices mean the government is currently hesitant to adjust domestic cylinder prices.
Will domestic gas prices decrease in the near future?
Market experts suggest that if international crude oil prices continue to decline, we might see a reduction in domestic gas cylinder prices in the coming months. The government is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to take necessary actions if needed.
What do consumers hope for from the government?
Consumers are looking for timely relief on domestic gas cylinders. They expect an increase in subsidies to ensure that everyday people benefit directly. Additionally, they want gas cylinder prices to remain stable to avoid new issues each month.
