Actually, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the free Aadhaar update service once again. Earlier, its deadline was 14 September last date, although now it has been extended once again.

This means that Aadhaar card holders can update their information for free till December 14, 2024. This information has been shared by UIDAI once again. The organization had earlier advised all Aadhaar card holders to update their Aadhaar cards immediately if they are more than 10 years old. This free update feature has been extended several times before.

Free Online Update Facility

It is important to note that the free update feature is only available through online channels. Users can avail this service through the My Aadhaar portal or the official website of UIDAI. However, updating Aadhaar at any Aadhaar center will not be free. It is necessary to visit the Aadhaar center for iris and biometric updates.

To avail this service, visit the UIDAI website and visit the My Aadhaar portal. Log in using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Check your given information and upload the required documents if correction is required. Upon completion, you will receive a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) to track your update status.

How to update Aadhaar Card

2. Check your given information; if correct, then tick the confirmation box.

3. If correction is needed, select your identification documents from the drop-down menu.

4.Upload the required documents. Complete the process and get a 14-digit URN for tracking.
