Big news is waiting for state girls who are going to marry soon. If you’re going to get married soon, then the government will give you money up to 20,000 rupees. Yes, you’ve heard it right. The marriage grant scheme is being operated in the Backward Class Welfare Department to settle the houses of daughters of economically weaker families. Under this scheme, girls are given financial assistance of Rs. 20 thousand. In the current financial year, the target of giving benefit of the scheme to 382 daughters has been achieved. Against this, 189 daughters have been benefited. There are 27 applications pending with the department. To take advantage of the scheme, persons with an annual income of up to one lakh can apply online on the portal of the department.
311 applied
So far, 311 people have applied to the department to get the benefit of the marriage grant scheme. In this, 284 applications have been verified by the department. Out of this, 75 applications were rejected due to errors in records during verification. Out of the eligible applications found in verification, 189 daughters have been given the benefit of the scheme. 20 applications are pending at the government level for approval. The remaining 27 applications are being verified at department, block, and tehsil level.
Revision of Income
Rajiv Kumar Yadav, District Backward Classes Welfare Officer, said, Earlier, the benefit of the marriage scheme was available only to persons with an income of up to Rs 46,000, but now it has been changed by the government. Now it has been increased to one lakh rupees. With this, the benefit of the marriage scheme will now be available to a person with an annual income of up to one lakh.
Mass marriage now on 14 and 23
Under the Chief Minister’s Group Marriage Scheme, the dates of mass marriage of development block-wise applicants have been fixed. The ITI campus has been selected for organizing the Chief Minister’s Group Wedding Scheme operated by the Social Welfare Department. On the scheduled dates, in the presence of public representatives and administrative officers, the daughters will be farewelled with gifts in a grand event.
District Magistrate Mangala Prasad Singh said that in view of the convenience of the bride and groom, now on November 14, the marriage of daughters of Sursa, Bawan, Tadiawan, Ahirori, Hariawan, Tondarpur, Pihani, Shahabad, Bharkhani, Harpalpur, and Sandi development blocks along with Hardoi, Shahabad, Pihani, and Sandi Municipality and Gopamau and Pali Nagar Panchayat will be performed.
