Good news for lakhs of government employees. Central government has given great news to central employees. The government has allowed its employees to travel by Tejas, Vande Bharat and Humsafar trains under Leave Travel Concession (LTC). This step has been taken after the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) received several suggestions from various offices / individuals regarding the admissibility of different premium trains under LTC.
DOPT issued order
DoPT said in the order- This department has looked into the matter in consultation with the Department of Expenditure and it has been decided that in addition to the existing Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains, now travel will be allowed in Tejas Express, Vande Bharat Express and Humsafar Express trains under LTC as per the eligibility of government employees.
Eligible central government employees availing LTC also get back the expenses incurred by them on tickets for other journeys in addition to paid leave.
What is LTC?
LTC i.e. Leave Travel Concession is a facility that provides financial assistance to employees to travel to their home town or any other place after a certain period. This facility gives employees a chance to spend time with their family and friends, which increases their job satisfaction.
Central employees waiting for DA
Central employees are waiting for the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the first half of the year 2025. It is estimated that the government can take a decision on dearness allowance by the end of March.
Let us tell you that dearness allowance is increased twice a year on the basis of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. This increase is done on a half-yearly basis. However, during the Corona period, dearness allowance was stopped for 18 months.
