Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari unveiled the Budget 2025 on Wednesday, highlighting several initiatives aimed at enhancing the state’s infrastructure, health, education, youth support, farmer assistance, women’s welfare, and job creation. During her speech, she announced that the implementation of the PKC-ERCP Project is already underway.
For improving drinking water access, the government plans to connect 20 lakh households with a budget of Rs 425 crore. Additionally, the Mukhyamantri Jal Jeevan Mission (Urban) will kick off, with projects worth over Rs 5,830 crore. The plan includes installing 1,000 tube wells and 1,500 hand pumps.
A budget of Rs 1,000 crore has been set aside for developing eight new districts in Rajasthan, which will enhance basic amenities in those areas. The government also aims to create 125,000 new job opportunities and introduce new schemes through the Rajasthan Housing Board.
Here’s a quick look at the urban development allocations:
1. Rs 70 crore will go towards underground parking, a heritage walkway, and beautification at Poonam Singh Stadium in Jaisalmer.
2. In Bharatpur, Rs 13 crore is earmarked for widening and strengthening a BT road and improving drainage from Sheesham Tirahe to Kali Baghi crossing.
3. Rs 17.83 crore will be spent on widening and strengthening the BT/CC road and drainage from Hiradas square to Kali Baghi square in Bharatpur.
4. Swarn Jayanti Park in Jaipur will be transformed into an oxygen zone, with plans to develop Ramgiri Pahadi in Udaipur as an oxygen hub and tourist spot, costing Rs 15 crore.
5. Electrification projects under the SPZ scheme in Bharatpur will receive Rs 25 crore.
6. A new scheme for 400 flats will be launched under the Pratap Nagar Awasiya Yojana in Jaipur, with Rs 325 crore allocated for it.
7. The Indira Gandhi Nagar Housing Scheme will introduce a plan for 144 flats.
8. A project for 160 apartments is set to kick off in Mansarovar Awasiya Yojana, Jaipur, with an investment of Rs 35 crore.
9. The Panerion ki Madadi Residential Scheme will introduce 200 apartments in Udaipur, with a budget of Rs 20 crore.
10. A new transport hub is on the way for Vivek Vihar Pali Road in Jodhpur, costing Rs 50 crore.
11. The Dravyavati river is getting a makeover to boost tourism, with Rs 50 crore earmarked for the project.
12. New auditoriums are planned for Anupgarh Sriganganagar, Shahpura Bhilwara, and Gangapur City Sawai Madhopur, along with a City Park in Kuchaman City Didwana, totaling an investment of Rs 14 crore.
13. A new bus stand will be constructed near Hanuman square in Alwar city under a PPP model, with a budget of Rs 60 crore.
