After DA, DR, there is another big news waiting for pensioners’. After increasing the dearness allowance and dearness relief to the employees of the Madhya Pradesh government, the government has now given a gift to the pensioners of urban bodies. The government has issued an order to increase the dearness relief rate to the pensioners of other urban bodies, including the Municipal Corporation.
As per the intention of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and on the instructions of Urban Development and Housing Department Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, the rate of dearness relief of pensioners of urban bodies of the state has been increased. An order in this regard has been issued by Urban Development and Housing Department Commissioner Bharat Yadav.
DR increased to 50 percent
Now the pensioners of urban bodies in the state will get the same benefit as the pensioners of the state government in the rate of dearness relief. Dearness relief has been approved at the rate of 239 percent on pension in the sixth pay scale and 50 percent on pension in the seventh pay scale. This order will apply to both basic pension and family pension. The increase in the dearness relief rate to pensioners has been approved from October 1, 2024. Detailed information in this regard can be obtained from the offices of the local bodies.
An increased amount will come into the account from November
The new rates will be applicable from October 2024, so the pension will increase in the account from November. The minimum pension for pensioners in MP is Rs 7750, and the maximum is up to Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand. The pensioners of the urban body had been waiting for a long time for the increase in dearness relief, which the government has fulfilled on Diwali.
