There is positive news for the Para Teachers (Assistant Teachers) in Jharkhand. Shortly, the honorarium will rise by Rs 1000. It is possible that the honorarium may be paid in either November or December. To achieve this, the Jharkhand Education Project Council has requested a report from the districts by the week’s end. Payment will be processed based on this arrangement.
Para teachers have been instructed to create UAN numbers
According to media reports, all para teachers have been instructed to create UAN numbers and send a report so that the procedure for disbursing honorarium for November with EPF deduction can commence next week. At present, TET qualified para teachers for grades six to eight receive Rs 23,400, whereas those for grades one to five earn Rs 21,800. The compensation for qualified teachers amounts to Rs 18,940 and Rs 17,472 respectively.
The EPF amount will be withheld starting from the month of November. The procedure for deducting EPF from the November payment of Para teachers in Jharkhand is set to begin. A deduction of 13 percent, amounting to Rs 1950, will be made from teachers’ honorarium, while the state government will also contribute 13 percent, which equals Rs 1950. As a result, educators will receive an extra advantage of Rs 2950 each month.
Department has created UAN numbers for 37,815 teachers
The Para teachers for whom the UAN (Universal Account Number) has been created will receive their honorarium, and the initial EPF installment will be subtracted from it. Para teachers who do not have a UAN number issued are requested to create their UAN number and send in the report, enabling the initiation of the honorarium payment for November, along with EPF deductions, starting next week. Currently, the School Education and Literacy Department has created UAN numbers for 37,815 teachers from a total of 58,047 para teachers.
