Another good news is waiting for Indian farmers. A new subsidy program has been launched to encourage horticulture through the National Horticulture Board (NHB). This initiative aims to boost the production of horticultural crops by offering financial support to farmers, entrepreneurs, and agriculture-related startups. The subsidy covers the cultivation of various crops, including fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, and both medicinal and aromatic plants.
Farmers can receive a subsidy of up to 50% from NHB
Under this program, farmers can obtain a subsidy of up to 50% of the total project cost for protected farming methods such as polyhouses, greenhouses, or shade nets on their own land. Additionally, a 40% subsidy is available for growing crops like guava, mango, and amla in open fields.
Farmers can also benefit from a subsidy ranging from 30% to 50% for establishing cold storage facilities or developing post-harvest infrastructure. Furthermore, there is a subsidy of up to 40% for mushroom farming.
