A dedicated campaign is set to be initiated in Madhya Pradesh aimed at encouraging farmers to adopt solar pumps and enhance cow rearing practices.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has instructed the organizations affiliated with the Jan Abhiyan Parishad to promote the use of solar energy-based pumps, thereby enabling farmers to achieve energy self-sufficiency. Additionally, efforts will be made to boost farmers’ incomes through the promotion of cow rearing.

Prioritising the encouragement of natural and organic farming practices

The Chief Minister highlighted that the rising reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides is contributing to health risks and an increase in serious illnesses in rural communities. He urged the council to prioritize the encouragement of natural and organic farming practices among farmers. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of transforming the Jal Ganga Abhiyan into a widespread movement. He stated that, in collaboration with the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, the Jan Abhiyan Parishad should advocate for water conservation and agricultural reforms in rural areas. Furthermore, he underscored the necessity of motivating farmers to cultivate millets and oilseeds.

The meeting also included presentations on the progress of training for new institutions, community leadership development programs, and vocational training initiatives. Administrative and managerial matters were also addressed. It was resolved to provide training for home guards, youth, and other interested individuals to prevent fatalities caused by snakebites. An agreement (MoU) was established with the Ujjain-based Snake Research Organization to ensure that a trained individual is available at every police station to assist in snakebite prevention and first aid.

During the meeting, various reports and publications from the Jan Abhiyan Parishad were unveiled in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. These included the booklet on ‘Personality Development and Character Building,’ a divisional review report, and the ‘World of Voluntary Organizations’ booklet.
