Reports suggest that the retirement age could be extended by two years, moving from the current age of 60 to 62. There has been much speculation regarding the DA increase, which was also a topic of discussion in a recent cabinet meeting.
Now, the government has made the decision to not only raise the retirement age but also to increase the DA. Orders regarding these changes are expected to be issued shortly. Additionally, all outstanding dues owed to employees will be settled soon. Recently, AP NGO’s state president Siva Reddy and general secretary Vidyasagar held an event in Gandhinagar, Vijayawada, where they shared that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has promised to address all employee concerns. Good news is on the horizon for employees, as the payment of the delayed PRC is also anticipated soon.
There are ongoing demands for the allocation of plots to employees within the Amaravati area, and a petition has been submitted at the Velagapudi secretariat regarding this matter. Furthermore, employees are urging the government to eliminate the CPS system and reinstate the old pension system. With the recent decision to increase both the DA and retirement age, implementation is expected soon.
Sources indicate that CM Chandrababu Naidu is actively considering various issues, including the appointment of a PRC commission, DA arrears, and the reintroduction of the old pension system, with more decisions likely to benefit employees in the near future.
