Bhagya Laxmi Yojana: There are many schemes in India to secure a girl child’s future and education. Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, among some popular schemes. Along with central government schemes, state governments also introduce schemes for girls. Today we are talking about the Bhagya Laxmi Yojana, which is run by the government of Uttar Pradesh.

Bhagya Laxmi Yojana is a financial assistance scheme launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, which aims to promote the birth of daughters in the society and provide financial support for their better future. The scheme is applicable to all daughters born after 31st March 2006, who are native of Uttar Pradesh.

Under the scheme, the government issues a bond of Rs 50,000 at the time of birth of the girl child. Apart from this, the mother of the girl child is also provided an incentive of Rs 5,100, so that she can help in the upbringing of the child. This amount remains deposited until the child turns 18 and can be used for education or other needs.

How to apply?

• First of all, you have to visit https://mahilakalyan.up.nic.in/

• Download the Bhagya Lakshmi Yojana form and take a printout.

• Fill all the details sought in the form.

• Now submit this form to the Anganwadi Center or Women and Child Development Office.

• After investigation, you will start getting the benefit of the scheme.

Who is eligible to apply

The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 2 lakh. Must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Registration in Anganwadi center must be done within one year of birth. Two girls from each family can benefit. The girl must get vaccinated from the health department. Girls who have been enrolled in this cannot marry before 18 years. The girl’s Aadhaar card should not be linked to the bank account.
