However, this time the West Bengal state government is going to provide internship opportunities to students along with higher education. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced an internship scheme for the first time in 2022 with an aim to strengthen the future of students in the state.
This internship programme is called West Bengal Student Internship Scheme. From the central government to the state government, everyone across the country is currently emphasizing on the internship scheme. Through these internship projects, the students of the state will be able to apply for jobs very easily by acquiring various skills according to their studies.

Facilities provided through the scheme
1) Through the West Bengal Internship Scheme, it will be possible to gain experience in the field of employment.
2) Those who join this scheme will get Rs. 10,000/- as monthly stipend.
3) Students will be able to gain skills in various government subjects through internship.
4) Based on the performance of the intern, after one year, there will be an opportunity to join the job directly in various departments of the state government.
5) On completion of the internship, everyone will be given a certificate with grading.
Eligibility Required for Application
Students who wish to apply for this scheme must have a minimum of 60% marks in ITI or diploma course.
Important instructions- The education department of the state government is taking initiative to recruit a minimum of 7500 students through this scheme. Initiatives are being taken by various universities of the state of West Bengal to start internships. According to sources, several internships have already been started and the state government’s student internship scheme is also going to be launched soon. A detailed notification in this regard will be released by the government in a few days.
