Daily News: The GST Council (GST Council) headed by Nirmala Sitharaman (Nirmala Sitharaman) has given great good news to the religious visitors in Monday’s meeting.
During the meeting, it has been decided that now religious visitors will have to pay only 5 % GST instead of 18 percent for taking helicopter services. Uttarakhand Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal has given this information to ANI.
Religious tourism will increase in hilly states like Uttarakhand
Premchand Aggarwal said that this demand was made on his behalf. The GST Council has approved this today. This will greatly benefit hilly states like Uttarakhand. Also, religious tourism will also increase.
He told that old people have to face a lot of trouble to reach inaccessible areas like Kedarnath and Badrinath. Helicopter service was started for his convenience. Till now 18 percent GST was being imposed on it. However, now with only 5 percent GST, people will have to pay less money to travel by helicopter. In this, 18 percent GST will have to be paid for taking 5 % tax chartered service on taking sharing helicopter service.
GST issue sent to fitment committee on research grant
He said that the issue of GST on the grant received for research to educational institutions has been sent to the fitment committee. After receiving the report of the committee, the GST Council will take a decision on this.
Apart from this, the case of GST on online payment has also been sent to the fitment committee. This issue has been in discussion for the last several days.
Information about the decisions held in the 54th meeting of GST Council will be given later. The last meeting of the GST Council was held on 22 June 2024. Apart from the Union Finance Minister, Finance Ministers of all states are involved in this committee.
