Big news for Aadhaar Card holder’s. Aadhaar card has now become the most important document. It is needed in things like taking advantage of government schemes to getting a SIM card and opening a bank account. Many people had made Aadhaar cards long ago and there were some mistakes in the name or date of birth. Such people can update their Aadhaar card for free till December 14. After this, you may have to pay a charge for updating.
Why is it necessary to update Aadhaar?
The UIDAI, the organization that makes the Aadhaar, has suggested to all the people that if the information in the base has been updated for more than 10 years, then it must be updated. You can update your Aadhaar card information such as name, address, or date of birth till 14 December 2024 for free. This process is completely online. You can easily update all the information sitting at home.
How to update Aadhaar online?
1.UIDAI website
(myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in).
2. Select the Update section and click on ‘Update Your Aadhaar’ under ‘My Aadhaar’.
3. Go to the detail update page and select ‘Update Aadhaar Details’ and click on ‘Update Document Details’.
4. Enter the credentials here and fill in the Aadhaar number and captcha, then click on ‘Send OTP’.
5. Now you have to login with the OTP on the registered mobile number.
6. Select the update option here. Select fields to update your name, address, etc.
7. Then upload the document. Fill in the required information and click on submit option.
Will have to go to the center for big updates
If you have to make biometric changes, then you have to follow the offline process for that. In this, updates for iris, fingerprint, mobile number or photo can only be done offline. However, some changes can only be made once. This includes updates to date of birth and gender.
How to update offline
1.You can also update the Aadhaar card offline. But, for this, you have to go to the Aadhaar center. This process is not free. You will also have to pay money in it.
2. Download the Aadhaar update form from the UIDAI website.
3. Submit the form and documents to the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
4. Provide biometric data at the Aadhaar center for biometric submission.
5. You will now get a URN slip for tracking the request.
