Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the central government provides financial assistance to economically weaker sections of the country to build houses, with the funds being directly transferred to the applicant’s account. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) includes four categories: EWS (Economically Weaker Section), LIG (Low Income Group), MIG-I (Middle Income Group-I), and MIG-II (Middle Income Group-II).

  • Under the EWS category, the applicant can build a house with a space of 30 square meters (323 square feet).
  • In the LIG category, the house should be 60 square meters (646 square feet).
  • ]In the MIG-I category, the space should be 160 square meters (1,722 square feet).
  • In the MIG-II category, the space should be 200 square meters (2,153 square feet).

How Much Money is Available:

Low-income group (LIG), economically weaker section (EWS), and middle-income group (MIG) people benefit from this scheme. The government provides funds for house construction in both plain and hilly areas.

  1. The government provides ₹1,20,000 for constructing a house in plain areas.
  2. For houses in hilly areas, the government provides ₹1,30,000.

The list of people applying for the PM Awas Yojana is compiled by checking the details provided by applicants. If the information is correct, the applicant is included in the beneficiary list of the scheme.

When was the scheme started?

  1. Visit the PMAY Website: Go to PMAY Official Website.

  4. Upload Documents: Attach required documents like identity and income proofs.
  5. Submit: Review and submit your application.
  • To Check Your Name in the Beneficiary List:
  1. Visit the Search Page: Go to PMAY Beneficiary Search.
  2. Enter Details: Fill in your state, district, block, and Aadhaar number.
  3. Check Status: See if your name appears in the list.
