How to correct the address in the voter ID card
1. For this, first go to the National Voters’ Service Portal (NVSP). Click on this link- https://voters.eci.gov.in/ After this, if you have logged in, then log in here, otherwise click on sign in to create an account.
2. Here you will see the option of Correction of entries in electoral roll, click on this option.
3. After this, a new page will open, click on the Form-8 option here. Through Form 8, you can easily make corrections in the voter ID card.
4. In this form, enter the electoral roll number, fill in the gender, name of parents or husband, etc.
5. Now upload one of the documents from the Aadhaar card or license for your address proof.
6. Your reference number will be generated as soon as you upload the document and submit it.
7. Make a note of this number somewhere. With the help of this reference number, you can track the status of your voter card.
8. Apart from this, if you want, you can also correct your name. You will not need to go anywhere for this too. Follow the procedure below.
How to fix an incorrect name in Voter ID
Voter ID has come but a spelling mistake in the name or the name itself has been printed wrongly? So there is no need to worry. Follow this process.
1. First of all, go to the Voter Service Portal https://voters.eci.gov.in/. Click on the correction of entry option on the left side of the homepage.
2. Click on Fill Form 8 for correction in name, a new page will open, if you already have an account, then log-in or else sign up to create a new account.
3. Fill in the required details, state name, your name, Voter ID number and gender, etc. After filling the home address, upload the documents.
4. Upload the latest photograph, valid ID and address proof in the documents, click on the My Name option in what correction is to be done.
5. Enter the mobile number and email ID as soon as you submit, keep a note of this ID somewhere, with the help of this ID you will be able to track your application.
