What is PM Surya Ghar Yojana?

Moving forward in the direction of green energy, the Modi government has launched the Roof Top Solar Scheme in the interim budget presented on February 1. It has been named PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

Under this scheme with an investment of more than Rs 75,000 crore, a target has been set to provide free electricity up to 300 units to one crore houses in the country. Also, if you install a solar energy plant on the roof of your house, then a huge discount is being given on it.

Know the special features of the scheme?

300 units of free electricity every month to one crore families. For solar panels, you will have to spend money from your pocket.

Surveys have started in the country to install solar panels. The government will give subsidy per kilowatt.

A subsidy of Rs 30,000 will be given on a solar system of 1 kilowatt capacity, Rs 60,000 for 2 kilowatt capacity, and Rs 78,000 on a solar system of 3 to 10 kilowatt capacity.

For this, you have to apply by visiting pmsuryaghar.gov.in. This scheme has been officially launched in Ghaziabad first in the country.

What are the eligibility conditions?

– The income of the applicant should not exceed 1.5 lakhs. He will have to submit documents like Aadhar card, income certificate, residence certificate, ration card, electricity bill, mobile number, bank passbook, passport size photo.

PM Modi had announced on 22 January

On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme after the inauguration of Ram Mandir. He had said that one crore houses would be given the gift of solar energy. Under this scheme, the government has set a target of generating 40 thousand megawatts of electricity by the year 2026.

How to apply online for PM Surya Ghar Yojana

First of all, apply online on the website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in.

Here, go to Rooftop Solar and first select the state and electricity distribution company.

Enter CA number, mobile number, email.

After this, login with CA number and mobile number and apply for Roof Top Solar.

After applying, wait for approval, you can get the plant installed from registered vendors.

After installation, you will have to apply for net meter by giving the details of the plant.

After verification and inspection, you will have to give bank account details and cancelled cheque, subsidy will come in the account after 30 days.
