Today a golden chapter is going to be added to the transportation history of India! The country’s first hydrogen-fueled train will start its historic journey on the Jind-Sonipat route in Haryana today. This train, which will prove to be a boon for the environment, has been prepared by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) of Chennai with indigenous technology.
Its trial is starting today on this 89 km route. This powerful train is capable of running at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour. This is a big step towards the green revolution, which will prove to be a milestone in reducing pollution and moving towards a clean future.
One of the longest hydrogen trains in the world
This modern train with a capacity of 1200 horsepower will be able to carry 2638 passengers simultaneously. The Railway Ministry has allocated ₹ 2800 crore for the construction of hydrogen fuel cell based trains, under which 35 such trains are being manufactured.
This 8 coach train running at a speed of 110 kmph will be among the longest hydrogen trains in the world. It is not only environmentally friendly but will also provide a comfortable and safe travel experience for the passengers.
