Toll Tax-Something new is happening every day in the auto industry in India. Along with this, an increase is also being seen in toll collection
Till now the traditional method has been adopted for toll collection, after which the government is preparing to bring Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has already announced the Global Navigation Satellite System. It is being told that this system is currently in the testing phase. After its arrival, the old toll technology may end in India.
What is the Global Navigation Satellite System
GNSS will be based on a navigation satellite system. It will have a satellite-based unit, which will be installed in vehicles.
With the help of the system, officials will be able to easily know when the car started using the toll highway.
As soon as the vehicle leaves the toll road, the system will calculate the use of the toll road and deduct the amount.
The most special thing about the GNSS system is that with its help, passengers will have to pay only as much money as they have travelled.
With its help, passengers will be able to know the amount of toll and they will be able to pay accordingly.
Another good thing is that after the arrival of this technology, traditional toll booths will also be removed, where long queues have been formed many times.
When will this new system come
At present, the government has not announced any date in this regard, but its testing is going on on two major highways in the country.
These include the Bengaluru-Mysore National Highway (NH-257) in Karnataka and the Panipat-Hisar National Highway (NH-709) in Haryana. It will be implemented in a phased manner as soon as the government gives the green signal.
Travelers will benefit from this new technology
With the arrival of the GNSS system, there will be many benefits for the passengers. First of all, they will not have to stand in long queues at the toll plaza.
This will save time. Second, passengers will have to pay tolls only for the distance they have travelled. This will save money for the passengers. Third, this technology will reduce traffic jams at toll plazas, which will reduce travel time.
GNSS technology is going to revolutionize toll plazas in India. This technology will provide many benefits to commuters and will get rid of long queues at toll plazas.
In the coming time, we hope that this technology will be implemented at all toll plazas in the country.
