In an effort to transform the nationwide delivery of products, India Post has introduced two new services. The two services are “Mobile Parcel Van” and “Logistics Post.” With these two services, customers can send products easily and affordably, both domestically and internationally.
Logistics Update
The logistics post service has been established primarily for the conveyance of oversized and heavy items. Using this service, one can send up to 3 tons of items abroad. The service has already commenced from Suri in West Bengal’s Birbhum to Digha. This service is anticipated to be especially beneficial in the business industry.
Mobile Package Van
The mobile parcel van service has been launched primarily for the shipment of personal belongings. The staff of India Post will pick up the items from customers’ residences and bring them to the designated locations. This service allows for the shipment of up to 35 kg of items. Currently, this service is being conducted from 32 Head Post Offices within the West Bengal Circle.
Quick service at half the price
In the postal department of the government, this service will deliver items for nearly half the price of private courier firms. Nirash Kumar, Chief Postmaster General of the West Bengal Circle, stated that the logistics cost for post services varies between Rs 2 per kilometre and a maximum of Rs 29.36. You won’t find anywhere else where you can deliver this product at such a low price. He mentioned that plans have also been put in place for the ease of the customers. Consequently, the government will also provide compensation in the event of any loss.
How to book?
To avail this service, customers have to go to the official website of India Post and register online. Apart from this, you can also apply for this service by going to the local post office to know the details.
