Currently, passengers holding general tickets can easily switch trains. However, with the proposed changes, the names of specific trains may be required on general tickets. This alteration implies that once a train’s name is recorded on the ticket, passengers will lose the ability to change trains.
Validity period of a general ticket
According to railway regulations, the validity period of a general ticket is limited to three hours. This means that if a passenger does not commence their journey within three hours of purchasing a general ticket, the ticket will become invalid, rendering it unusable for travel after this time frame.
