EPFO Special Update: A portion of the salary of employed individuals is deducted as PF and deposited into their PF account. After retirement, this amount is received as a pension. Every month, 12 percent of the basic salary is deposited into the PF account, and the employer also contributes the same percentage. The government provides interest on this amount.
Employees contributing to EPF receive a 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN), which allows them to access their PF account. However, problems arise when employees are assigned multiple UANs instead of just one. In this article, we will share all the details on how to unlink someone else’s ID from your UAN instantly using EPFO’s new step.
Keep These Things in Mind While Delinking the ID
If a wrong ID is linked to your UAN, you can now delink it from the comfort of your home. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) issued a circular on January 17, 2025, stating that members can now delink any incorrect member ID from their UAN.
To delink another member’s ID linked to your UAN, ensure that your mobile number linked to Aadhaar is active. Before starting the delinking process, carefully verify all your details to avoid any mistakes. If needed, you can seek help from EPF support.
Steps to Delink Someone Else’s ID from Your UAN
- Visit EPFO’s Unified Member Portal.
- Sign in by entering your UAN, password, and captcha.
